Buddha's Hand, Citrus Magazine
A mutation of Washington navel discovered in Venezuela. Salmon pink inside with wonderfully sweet “tutti-fruity” flavor (ask the NY Times). Pigmentation caused by the antioxidant lycopene, similar to grapefruit. High in vitamins C and A and fiber; a good source of foliate and potassium. Seedless. Often called red navel. Available December to February.
