ITALIAN & SPANISH LEMONS
California Citrus Specialties is proud to announce the introduction to the United States of six exceptional Italian and Spanish lemon varieties. Supplies of the following California-grown lemons are limited:
Corpaci
A local Italian variety grown in the Simeni area near Siracusa. Very few seeds.
Femminello
The most widely grown lemon in Italy. Highly acidic. Few seeds.
Femminello St. Teresa
A selection of Femminello prized for its abundant rind oil and disease resistance of the tree. Few seeds.
Monachello
Possibly a citron-lemon hybrid, with lower juice content, thicker rind but unique flavor.
Primofiore
Accounts for about 20 percent of the lemon crop in Spain. Smaller but juicier and more acidic than Verna.
Verna
Also known as Berna, this lemon is the main variety of Spain. Tender and juicy with few seeds.
